OUR CAMPAIGN PLAN FOR 2023

The Lakewood Democratic Club membership voted at its August 31, 2023 meeting endorsing a YES ON ISSUE 1 vote for the November 7, 2023 special election. (Click here to read the text of the ballot measure.) The Club will help coordinate a local mailer containing info about Issue 1 and a vote by mail application which will reach over 11,000 Lakewood households in early October. We plan to write postcards to over 2,100 apartments who cannot be reached by door-to-door canvassing. We will distribute over 500 yard signs. We plan to canvass door-to-door to reach over 6,500 households with a literature drop. Finally, our sample ballot mailer will be sent to over 10,000 households in Lakewood, including as a follow-up to ballot chase for absentee/vote-by-mail requests.

YARD SIGN DRIVE THRU & PICKUP EVENTS​

Suggested donation per sign: $5.00. Both events are at Madison Park (South Parking Lot off Athens Ave) in Lakewood. If you cannot pickup at these 2 events, please join us at another campaign event to get a sign - we do not plan to make deliveries.

  • Sunday, October 8 - 1:00pm-3:00pm 

  • October 21 is POSTPONED - we are waiting on new signs. Stay tuned for a new date!

POSTCARD WRITING​

Join us at Sauced Taproom, 14701-4 Detroit Ave, Lakewood, OH 44107 between 6:00pm-9:00pm on one of the following nights. Please consider bringing a pen and postcard stamps or a donation to cover postage (if you can). We will provide food, but drinks are on you.

  • Tuesday, October 24 (only if we haven't finished!)

  • Monday, October 30 (only if we haven't finished!)

LIT DROPS & CANVASSING DOOR-TO-DOOR

Join us at the home of Chuck & Betsy Shaughnessy (1268 Andrews Ave, Lakewood) between 11:00am-2:00pm to deliver literature to potential voters and help educate your neighbors on the candidates and ballot issues. Please bring a charged phone - all turf will be accessed in the MiniVan app.
