The Lakewood Democratic Club membership voted unanimously at its June 29, 2023 meeting endorsing a NO ON ISSUE 1 vote for the August 8, 2023 special election. The Club helped coordinate a local mailer containing info about Issue 1 and a vote by mail application which reached over 5,000 Lakewood households in early July. We wrote postcards to over 2,100 apartment dwellers who could not be reached by door-to-door canvassing. We distributed over 700 yard signs (as of 7/23). Finally, we plan to finish our door-to-door canvassing to reach over 3,700 households (5,300 people).
