Featured presentation by Judges Shannon Gallagher and Michael Shaughnessy of the Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court. They'll discuss the intersection of mental health and criminal justice and the mental health/developmental disability court docket, program, and mission and how it interconnects with issues at the Cuyahoga County Jail.
Presentation by Katie Montgomery from Cuyahoga County Community College about Issue 3, a tax levy renewal and increase, on the ballot this year.
Presentation by Michele Pomerantz, Cuyahoga County Director of Regional Collaboration, about the 2020 US Census and local efforts to get our residents counted.
The Lakewood Dems Book Club met on October 8th and the next meeting will be Tuesday, November 12 at The Bottlehouse Brewing Company. Please see the Book Club page for details.
October 26 at noon, "13th" documentary screening: Join us for a film screening about the intersection of race, justice, and mass incarceration in the United States. South Euclid Municipal Court Judge Gayle Williams-Byers will host us on Saturday, October 26 at 12pm noon at Mahall's in Lakewood for the showing of the documentary film 13TH, named after the 13th Amendment to the US Constitution, followed by a discussion.
